Awana Ministry

Awana is a weekly ministry throughout the school year that appeals to kids inside and outside our congregation, leading them to accept Jesus Christ as their savior, and to guide them to a lifetime of faith and leadership to God.

We do this by:

v Programs for ages 3 to 18

v Great tools to reach unsaved children, youth and families

v Teaching that builds faith

v Fun activities for children, teens and adults

Our ministry meets Wednesday nights from 6:30 to 8:30. We have several activities and theme nights throughout the year to keep kids excited to come back every week.

Some of those activities and theme nights include:

v Grand Prix

v Books of the Old and New Testament competitions

v Awana-ween (Bible character dress-up)

v Birthday party for Jesus

v Crazy hair night

v Boys vs. Girls night

We are here to "reach girls and boys with the gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him." Come join us, we’d love to have you here!

If Knox County Schools or Corbin Independent Schools are cancelled, then AWANA is cancelled.

Congrats to the JV and Varsity for a fantastic Christmas Play! This was a powerful witness for Christ to all who attended. THANK YOU to Ed Gunter, Sheila Bargo, Sue Sizemore, Tammy Bargo, and anyone else that directed and supported the youth in this Christmas Play.

If you have children ages Kindergarten thru 12th grade, we invite you bring them to AWANA on Wednesday nights from 6:20 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. as scheduled on the AWANA Calendar. Our AWANA ministry, as well as other church ministries such as Sunday School, is a wonderful way to learn about God’s word and its application to everyday life. Children have the support to learn and develop skills such as singing, public speaking, memorization, fellowship/social interaction to name a few, in a Christian environment that will serve them now and the rest of their lives. Plus, while your children are at AWANA, adults are welcome to stay for Wednesday night prayer meeting.

Remember as winter weather is now here, if Knox County or Corbin Independent Schools are cancelled on a Wednesday, then AWANA is cancelled that same Wednesday.
